We finally made our way to California’s Great America WinterFest over the weekend, and it turned out to be a much bigger holiday treat than I had expected, You might think WinterFest is just Great America with a few extra lights here and there with Santa and his reindeer mounted on the Gold Striker rollercoaster, but the first-time event turned out to be a lot more delightful, Cedar Fair — the owner of the Santa Clara amusement park — deserves a hearty, “Ho Ho Ho,” for transforming the park into a real winter wonderland, bloch ballet shoes Nothing says California Christmas like watching kids dance around as fake “snow” is blown onto them from above..

There are a few extra lights — the park is lit with approximately 7 million LED lights, plus holiday-themed projections on the ground — and the dual centerpieces are the 60-foot tall tree and ice skating rink that flank the Columbia Carousel.  Most restaurants and shops have been re-branded with holiday-themed names, too, like Maggie Brown’s Festive Feast, Prancer’s Pizza and Snoopy’s Stocking Stuffers. Even the 360-degree-view “Star Tower” ride was cutely renamed the “North Pole.”.

The kid-friendly Planet Snoopy area was a treat thanks to the obvious connection to “A Charlie Brown Christmas” (though all the trees at Charlie Brown’s Tree Lot looked a lot more robust than the one he liked in the TV special), There’s also an entire gingerbread neighborhood in Candy Cane Lane, a backstage area normally closed off to visitors that’s been temporarily converted into a pass-through, There also are several live shows produced specifically for WinterFest, with singers belting out holiday favorites to a Peanuts ice show, We’re softies, though, and enjoyed the old-fashioned Christmas message of “Tinker’s Toy bloch ballet shoes Factory,” a song-and-dance show in Theatre Royale that had plenty of Silicon Valley gift shout-outs as Santa’s elves tried to fill gift orders for Fitbits, iPhones, Xboxes and Tesla Model 3s..
